Gender & Ethnicity Pay Statement

We're creating an inclusive place to work – where everyone feels valued, motivated and at home.

Our long-term success depends on our ability to attract, promote and retain a diverse mix of people and skills, where different thoughts and experiences can come together, to energise a greener, fairer future for all.

That's why by 2030, we’re focused on building an engaged team that reflects the full diversity of the communities we serve in line with Census data for working populations. We’re also recruiting 3,500 apprentices with the ambition that 50% of engineering roles will be filled by women. All of which will make a big difference in closing our gender and ethnicity pay gaps. Delivering these goals and closing our pay gaps won't be quick or easy, but we’re fully committed to achieving what we’ve set out to do. We expect to close our pay gaps over the long-term as we work to transform our business, sector and society through our People & Planet Plan, ensuring every colleague feels counted and included.

We’ve published our gender pay gap for the last eight years in line with UK law. We’ve also voluntarily shared our ethnicity pay gap for the fifth year running because we believe it’s the right thing to do. We hope our voluntary disclosure will encourage other organisations to do the same, so that the insights shared can be used to drive collective positive action.
